County attorney: Roberts
The hard fought race for county attorney pits councilman Bill Cegelka against former Commonwealth's Attorney Larry Roberts.
[...]
He has been on the council since 2003. In a rancorous atmosphere, Cegelka has remained calm and, as parliamentarian, has helped keep meetings on track.
In this campaign, he has offered valuable ideas about managing the county attorney's office to provide better and more efficient service to crime victims.
[...]
Roberts does have a history of occasionally sliding into glib or apparently thoughtless remarks. While we admire his willingness to engage in public discussion of sensitive issues, we hope that as county attorney, he will choose his words carefully.

Why would the Lexington Herald Leader support Larry Roberts when he defends deadbeat dads, chastizes female joggers and runs a dirty campaign?
One reason, and one reason only: the water company. On city council, Cegelka voted to end the condemnation of the water company. This is the Herald Leader's payback. Plain and simple.
