DeCamp, Brown deserve nod in 3rd District
Dick DeCamp is one of the wise heads on the Urban County Council -- someone who would rather get work done than jockey for the limelight.
[...]
Three energetic opponents insist they would do a better job responding to constituent concerns, such as traffic and housing code enforcement.
Ed Brown, an IBM employee and a leader of the Hollywood/Mount Vernon Neighborhood Association for 16 years, offers the strongest challenge.
[...]
His platform focuses on the nuts and bolts of governmental service: traffic, parking, zoning, sewer and storm-water infrastructure and making city hall more accessible and user-friendly.
[...]
Ryan Schneider, a political novice spending little on his campaign, has legitimate concerns about the speed of traffic along his street near the football stadium. But he has little knowledge of what the council does or the issues facing it.
We would like to see him channel his enthusiasm into his neighborhood association or other civic efforts before making another run for political office.

The editorial is pretty insulting to Schneider ... I wonder what issue he disagrees with the editors on that leads to such insults.
